Countertops, vanities
We refinish countertops mostly in a MultiSpec finish. By its very nature, a MultiSpec finish hides a multitude of flaws that solid finishes cannot. A MultiSpec finish gives a beautiful contrast to an existing solid color finish on a bathtub, shower, or floor tile. MultiSpec instantly updates a bathroom by removing undesirable colors like pink, green, or blue and gives the countertop the appearance of granite.
Bathroom and bathtub tile walls
A lot of the older homes in Los Angeles have colored tile, like pink, green, or blue surrounding the bathtub, as well as on the bathroom walls and countertops. If you want to change the color of the tiles surrounding your bathtub, refinishing is what you want. We can refinish all of the tile in the bathroom solid or Multispec colors.
Saltillo tile (sometimes referred to as Mexican tile) is durable, but over time it can become worn out or stained. New Saltillo tile is typically unfinished, meaning it isn't treated with any varnish or glaze. The result is that it has a porous surface which can absorb spills and lead to Saltillo tile stain issues.
Sealing Saltillo tiles to prevent future staining is a must. Once initially sealed, over the time
the sealant can begin to yellow, which can give Saltillo tiles a dingy or discolored look. Also, waxing Saltillo tile without proper cleaning can trap layers of dirt on the floor that will make Saltillo tile appear a lot darker.
Floors
Saltillo tiles need more attention than almost any type of tile. Saltillo tiles require, cleaning, sealing, polishing, honing, stripping and repair in order to be fully restored.
If your Saltillo tile floor is becoming diminished in appearance, we can brighten it up with Saltillo tile cleaning, repair, restoration, and sealing services. The first step of refinishing Saltillo tile is to strip off the acrylic seal from the old tile. Next comes tile & grout cleaning and the final step is applying a sealer to seal the entire surface.
To restore and protect Saltillo tiles we apply few special techniques and entire work is mostly done by hand meaning time consuming and labour intensive.
However, if refurbishing done correctly it will reveal the beauty of your floor and preserve it for the decades to come. Don't replace, refinish... it will save a lot.
