Process, Instructions & Warranty

Process
The refinishing process allows your fixtures to be repaired and the color to be changed without the high costs of construction to replace those fixtures. We use only the best materials, making sure that they are as non-toxic as possible (low or no V.O.C.) and that your investment lasts. We spray with 4-stage turbine HVLP sprayers (similar to sprayers used for car painting) to best atomize our finishes for a smooth feel and optimum color distribution.
We begin by thoroughly cleaning, sanding and preping any surface to be refinished. We then mask everything off around the area to be refinished, so as to protect other surfaces from overspray while the new finish is applied to the surface. Only the surface being refinished is exposed after the masking process is done. We then apply an industrial strength epoxy base primer to give the colored finish a good base to lay on. After epoxy primer is dried thoroughly, we begin applying the faux granite finish, epoxy or solid color finish. We usually coat the surface 2-3 times. When our finished coats are dried, we could then apply a clear coat sealer in the same manner to protect your newly refinished surface!
Picture based estimates
For individual surface reglazing such as bathtubs, vanities or sinks we can give an estimate based on picture you text us. When taking pictures, please capture an overall image of a tub or other a surface so that we can see the front of it as well as what's on either side and above it. That way we can see how it sits in the room and what's surrounding it. Also send images of any damage you can see. It would also help if you know what type of the material we would be refinishing-Porcelain, Acrylic, Fiberglass, Cultured Marble, Formica, Tile Ceramics, Saltillo etc...If not sure, not a problem, we'll help.
Instructions
Bathtub, sink, vanity
-
Usually ONE day process
-
Please remove loose items from the bathtub area and bathroom.
-
We will put plastic over vanity top surfaces and drop cloths over the floor and toilet. Placing small loose items under a cabinet or removing them from the bathroom will help to make sure nothing gets damaged or misplaced.
-
We do not remove fixtures or reinstall fixtures. We have faced issues in the past where things began to leak when removed or did not quite go back on the way they were before removing them. We can no longer accept the liability because of our limited plumbing experience and tools.
-
Drips in bathtubs need to be resolved prior to resurfacing. If there is a drip in the faucet, our technicians may need to shut the water off to the house during the process if we cannot take care of the drip.
-
Stripping an old finish off a bathtub, making structural repairs to a bathtub surface, or removing shower doors and shower door tracks permanently will add to the cost of the project. We typically try to discuss these things during the estimation process, but occasionally we miss something and realize there will be an additional cost involved.
Countertops
-
Everything should be removed from the countertop by the homeowner prior to the technicians coming to refinish the countertops.
-
We typically move refrigerators and stoves out of the way of countertops. Occasionally these appliances cannot be put back if the fit was tight and the countertop would rub when putting appliances back in place. At that point, it would be the responsibility of the homeowner to place the appliances back in their respective spots a couple of days after the project is done.
-
Most countertops have seams. If a seam is in bad shape, we can do our best to make any cosmetic corrections. Wherever two sections of countertops join, we cannot guarantee that the seam or joint will not pull back apart slightly as weather changes and temperature conditions outside change. Most of the time there is no issue.
-
We do not remove sinks or install sinks. If you are putting in a new sink, we recommend having the old one completely out or the new one installed. Do not try to remove an old sink after the countertops have been refinished. There is always a chance that the countertops could be slightly damaged as you remove old sink.
-
Cosmetic and minor structural repairs to countertops are an additional charge to our standard service. We typically try to estimate those in the cost up front.
Cabinets
-
Usually 5 days process
-
Doors and drawers are taken to our shop where they will be sanded down, primed, and painted with our cabinet-coating material.
-
Cabinet boxes are left on site to be lightly sanded primed and painted with the same cabinet coating material.
-
Doors and drawers will have a sprayed finish. The boxes will have sprayed or a brushed and rolled finish. Brush marks and roller marks will be hardly noticeable, if at all.
-
Old hardware such as hinges, pulls, and knobs will be reused unless previous arrangements are made for new hardware. If new hardware matches existing holes, no charge will be made. If new holes need to be drilled in and old holes need to be filled, there will be an additional charge for that. (These arrangements need to be made prior to starting the work.)
-
Stripping down a previously painted finish and/or repairs to doors, drawers, or cabinet boxes will be an additional charge. If we find something that needs special attention we will notify the homeowner and price things accordingly.
-
It is impossible to anticipate everything that could happen during the process however 90%of the time everything goes according to plan and very smoothly.
-
All our work carries 12 month no peel warranty

Tile
-
Tile must be in good shape structurally. We do not replace missing tiles. We do not remove broken tiles and replace with new. We can repair minor chips and hairline cracks in tile.
-
Our material does not go on thick enough to fill in missing or thinning grout. These issues must be addressed prior to having tile resurface.
-
If bad places in the grout appear after the tile has been resurfaced, we can offer advice and instruction to the homeowner on what can be done to make everything look evenly coated.
-
We typically do not do any kind of caulking prior to or after resurfacing. Caulking needs approximately 24 hours to fully cure. We cannot spray our material over wet caulking. Our material is typically too tacky after we are done to try to do any kind of caulking. Most of the time the responsibility of caulking will fall to the homeowner after the material has fully set up. On some rare and occasional circumstances, we would be able to do some caulking either prior to or after our process. These will be determined case-by-case.
-
When refinishing a tiled bathroom, the best-case scenario is to have the toilet removed then re-set afterward. If that is not a possibility, we can remove the tank of the toilet and leave the bowl set. We will put the tank back, but if the nuts, bolts, or rubber gaskets are worn out, we would not be able to reset the tank. It would be the responsibility of the homeowner to replace those parts and get the tank set back on the toilet.

Warranty
We provide 3 years warranty on residential bathtub reglazing, (commercial 1 year) and 12 months warranty on all our refinished work
(sink reglazing no warranty) ...however that does not mean a surface we refinish will not last a lot, lot longer. Depending on the type of surface as well proper maintenance most of the surfaces will last for decades. If anything wrong with our process possible problems such as bubbling or peeling will be visible within several weeks to a month after refinishing. After that period life of a surface will mostly rely on proper care that we explain to all our customers.
Due to that reason we offer 1 year commercial warranty on bathtubs since, based on our experience in the past, some of the tenants do not follow bathtub care instructions and neglect the surface, sinks especially.
However, do not fear, for the most part, warranty and non warranty issues can be touched up very easily, we always take good care of our customers and resolve possible issues without much arguing.
Any scratching, deterioration of the glossy finish or staining over time due to usage, cleaning practices or water conditions will be considered to be normal wear and tear. Tubs with corrosion or rust problems will be repaired to the best of our ability. It is impossible to cover against any future corrosion or rust problems that may occur. Failure of adhesion of the primer or finish coat on wall tile or grout lines (due to recessed grout lines), is not covered under this warranty and is subject to a repair charge. Countertop coverage does not include laminate lifting off the substrate or backsplashes separating from the countertop. Due to the composition of the Multi-speck material, final application pattern may not match sample exactly.
What Our Warranty DOES Cover
-
Flaking
-
Peeling
-
Material losing adhesion to surface from normal use (not due to accidental damage)
What Our Warranty DOES Not Cover
-
Chips, nicks, scratches as a result of hard or heavy items being hit against or dropped on the new surface—OUR MATERIAL IS VERY INDUSTRIAL, BUT WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE FINISH WILL NOT BE DAMAGED WHEN IT ABSORBS ABUSE.
-
Peeling as a result of bathmats or other non-slip surfaces applied after work is done
-
Discoloration due to certain lighting, sunlight, or lack of cleaning
-
Please note that our warranty is specifically related to the two things under our control: workmanship and product defects. We do not guarantee that rust, cracks, or holes won't reappear later in a bathtub, shower, sink, or shower floor if the underlying source of the damage (possibly a house shift, improper initial installation, water leak, or previous damage to the same area) has not been corrected.
Pay attention to the cleaning and care recommendations to avoid warranty issues. Cleaning in most cases can be best accomplished using a mild dish-soap degreaser like Dawn (Be sure to avoid cleaners with acids or other chemicals the manufacture recommends avoiding).
Maintenance instructions
-
We cannot prevent dust from settling onto the newly refinished surface, as we are not working in a 100% dust free environment. Regular cleaning will remove or make the dust particles less noticeable.
-
DO NOT PICK OR TRY TO REMOVE PARTICLES AS THIS MAY DAMAGE THE SURFACE.
-
If a slip resistant surface is installed, please use caution when entering and exiting your tub or shower. We are not responsible for accidents. PLEASE, DON'T PLACE A BATHTUB MAT WITH SUCTION CUPS on reglazed surface, it will lift up the glaze eventually, ruin the work and void the warranty. If bathtub to slippery, there are mats without suction cups available to purchase on Amazon or we can install non slip surface on the bottom for an additional charge and when requested.
-
-
Damage caused by direct impact from an object that caused surface to chip or crack, either accidentally or intentionally, is subject to repair charge.
-
Do not use bath mats with suction cups.
-
PLEASE, DON'T USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS (Bleach, SOS pads, Comet, Soft Scrub). Mild dish soap (or equivalent) will clean the tub just fine.
-
Stains caused by hair dyes, chemicals or rust, are not covered by warranty, any attempt to remove or repair, would be subject to repair charge.
-
Maintain caulking where refinished tub meets tile walls.
-
Repair continuously leaking/dripping faucets.
-
Finish needs 24 Hours to cure in Bathrooms
-
Kitchen cabinet finishes take 3 days to cure to touch and 3 weeks to fully cure
-
Enjoy your new surface
